the most important factors for my application are great research/volunteer
experiences and strong recommendation letters.

due to violation of work hours. they spent over a million dollors to reopen
that program. At that time, RRC was using Yale to show its determination of
reinforcing the 80 hr work week rule. a lot of FMG were able to get in Yale'
s residency due to that, cause no body wants to joint a program on probation
. I think the time is totally different now, it would be very hard FMG

The new Chairman arrived several years ago made radical changes, and now
the 80-hour rule is strictly enforced.
The working hour violation is still happening at places like MGH and Johns
Hopkins. MGH's general surgery program is on probation right now, and Johns
Hopkins involves a lawsuit fired by a terminated surgery resident.

many FMG/IMG employees. Yes it's not easy because of the tough competition.
My impression is that Yale is more "open minded" and is willing to consider
top applicants regardless of the origin.

same thing happened in MGH pathology program, a given year, PGY-2 AMGs all
quit and complained to ACGME and made it probated too. No mention, suddenly
lacke 8 residents, how difficult for on call and gross/autopsy/CP schadule.
some CMGs got in those period.
now, it changed, and CMGs hard to get in.
MGH, JHH, Yale, Duke, Penn, all famous for its stink mean to residents.

Step 2 CK score before interview.
Some programs may require Step 2 CK score before ranking.
