比如要从科研回到临床（someday，我也要），有什么特质（天性）好说的呢？比如喜
欢鼓励别人（Obstetrics，使劲！使
劲！使～劲～@产房）， 喜欢站多过坐（surgery），喜欢看人家睡觉（
anesthesiology），喜欢死尸（Pathology），喜欢
左右不分，颠倒黑白（radiology），喜欢喋喋不休（Internal medicine），——在此
删去Brain storm出来的一千零一个特
质——，whatever，使别人信服的是“你有什么”，而不是“你要什么”。
好的，要说自己的特质，怎么吹嘘自己的特质显得自然？
“Why choose pathology？”。“I am good at sitting still and focusing(一语双
关，你亮了吗？）”下面你需要举例子。我
可能会举我做博士后时，如何做切片看切片，如何聚精会神找出XXX，发了XXX篇文章。
没错，这些干货和自豪是必须提的，
不过可以做得更艺术一点。上面说了，你提炼出你的特质或天性是专注，什么才叫你的
天性呢？就是你工作之外的处事方式。
你可以这么说“我喜欢静静坐着看显微镜，因为我天生喜欢专注。在闲时，我特别擅长
玩‘大家一起来找茬’的游戏。一般人都
是两张图一起看，东挑一个西挑一个，而我是集中精力看一张图，记住整个pattern，
也会由左到右，上到下扫描细节，然后
看另一幅图时跟我脑海的pattern对比，找出不同。别看我开始得慢，我专注Pattern，
不迷失于细节通常都能使我在游戏中迎
头赶上。天性静心专注，兼顾Pattern和细节，我想这正是我选择并胜任病理科的原因
。”
总结一下，你的特质是要迎合面试的工作的，但是要使你的特质（天性）有说服力，就
需要举工作以外的例子。

In general, you will be failed by your answers that you posted above.
To me and generally speaking, it is not a honest statement. You made it up.
If you can not hide from my eye, you will be disliked or mocked by the
person whose visual acuity is far beyond our imagination.
Don't use big word and conceptualize something that actually is not existing
, such as my personality matching up with the specialty. Only genius can
make that comment, not common people like me. If people don't think you are
a genius, people will come to the conclusion that you know nothing about
the field.
It does not matter how much you have. I don't care you had a Ph.D, so-so socre,
did some observationships or were PI, attedning. Even I don't care too much
whether you are a good person. The floor serice will be trun by you next
year. As a member of CMG group who has not gained too much good reputation,
can you treat MI, sepsis, shock if you go to IM? Can you manage stroke if
you go to Neur? Can you take care of pt without supervision?
Therefore, show them that you have practiced some therapeutic guidelines,
used medical jargons, excercised flowchart of the system.
This is a hard-core business, not a first sight romance. | D******e

Research is a stepping stone to come to the US. Glad I dont have to grow bugs again.....

易,学问很大.尤其是英语不是我们的native 语言,在争取语言不说错,流利的情况下,克
服紧张,表现真诚,真的需要好好练习,好好捉摸.
其实我们这里每一个人想做医生的愿望都是真诚的,想想看,背井离乡,大老远的来到这
里,从头开始,国内同学早就开始享受生活,事业有成了,我们还在这天天埋头啃课本,连
天黑夜的,尤其是上班的人,白天上班,晚上看书,周末也得搭进去,好不容易考完了,到处
厚着脸皮找ob,好不容易材料齐全了,递上去之后,成天眼巴巴地盯着电脑等好消息,一天
没有,两天没有,今天被这个据,明天被那个据,我们容易吗?没有真诚,怎么也撑不下来到
今天.真的进去了,等待我们的并不是美好休闲的时光,而是更加残酷的training.为了什
么?不就是为了有朝一日能真的挂上医生的头衔治病救人吗?不管你处于什么目的,我相
信都是真诚的.
关键就是看怎么表现出来,让别人知道你付出了这么多,就是为了一个真诚的愿望.

perfect matched with psych. What are you expecting me to ask when you are
interviewed? Like "Excellent, tell me more about
your friend." or "Hey, let us talk about what is your most prescribed/
favorite anti-psychotics". Do you think anyone here who is not genuinely
loving psych can say more than 2 sentences?
I am not a pyschiatrist. But I will regard him/her as a liar or incompetent
if he/she just tells me which drugs he likes. If you are really loving psycg
, it only takes hours to review all articles and give a nice 1 hour speech.
Don't think you can fool anyone. You fool yourself most of time.

上,你才会愿意为它奋斗和努力,不管做什么,如果你没有热情,没有爱,如何执着?
同时也要显示你的quality,证明你能够胜任这个工作,他们选择你是正确的俄,不会后悔.
还有就是,我觉得住院医生和找工作不一样,毕竟还属于training,主要还是学习,和毕业
以后找医生的position不一样.不可能你什么都会做,什么都行,和attending一样.让pd
相信你愿意work hard ,你可以learn quick,这点也很重要.

Kobe提醒面试前一定要做好准备，特别是你能胜任这份工作的证据，非常重要。
我想说的是，从考Step1开始，我们总是跟客观标准周旋，到了面试是就是要大胆说出
自己的与众不同。
不过准备的时候，心细要走在胆大前，细细准备好例子。现在我的做法是找个小本子，
一页分两栏，左边写每天的琐事，右边写面试时要推销的特点。比如内科resident需要
multi-tasking很多杂事，我自己特质是good at managing time and task，例子就是
我做实验时候，尽量把实验安排overnight的，这样我在睡觉的时候都会有data，出数
据的时间比其他人快1-2天。如果我做IM了，我也会把这个能力运用起来，把重要的事
情和耗时间的事情先做，把限速步骤先做，get the patient on the tract and let
things work on their own，給program的msg是“能缩短平均住院日”。还有很多小例
子，就不一一列举了。注意积累，就不用吹嘘捏造。 | s******n
