So-so spoken English: in 2009 I have taken an IELTS, my scores were
listening 6.5, speaking 6.0.
Male.
Prepare time: 4+ months
Took CS in Apr in Houston.
Thank God!! I passed…. Every item is on the borderline.
Anyway, it is a pass!! So happy…
Some suggestions:
1. Know yourself. Take the test only when you feel ready. Other people’s
experience can only be referred. My first scheduled date was last Sep. I
have postponed my test for at least three times.
2. The order step1—CK—CS should be the best order, since CS needs a lot
of CK knowledge.
3. Balance three parts of CS.
4. Regarding the courses, I may be the only one who has taken all 3
courses: NJ 2 day, Kaplan 5 day, and Auther online. Neglecting money, the
order of helpfulness for me would be: Auther>Kaplan>NJ. However, none is
perfect.
Above are only my personal opinions. Hope they are helpful to you. Very
happy to know all my partners have passed. Hope everybody read this post can
successfully pass CS. |

发帖数: 43 | 15 还是打中文好。我觉得Arthur的教法比较适合中国人，非常注重句子结构，问法符合美
国习惯，而且是一对一比较有针对性。KAPLAN注重大强度的训练，给你一个实战演习的
机会，对NOTE的写法有训练，给我的帮助也很大，老师有医学背景。NJ班是去年上的，
相当一个简化的KAPLAN，比较便宜，如果选择KAPLAN就不要去NJ了。另外听说纽约有个
C3NY,不知怎么样，好像中国人上过的不多。

发帖数: 43 | 17 I took Kaplan in mid-Feb, since at that time my scheduled test date was mid-
Mar. However, I postponed my date and actually took the test in late-Apr.
All my partners said I have made a big progress right after Kaplan. If I
suggest, I will say taking Kaplan 2-3 wks before your test.
I took Arthur's course from mid-Mar (after I have rescheduled my date).
Totally I had 14 courses with him (1 hr/time, 3 times/wk). I think you can
have his course 4-6wks before your test.
Just suggestion!! Good luck!!
