发帖数: 467 | 1 Today, I talked with one CMG in urology who is the only IMG in the program.
I was very curious about why this program selected him(Of course he had
exceptional credentials). Indeed that CMG is very excellent in the program.
Everybody likes him. But 2 yrs later, he recommended another CMG with even
better credentials. PD rejected immediately. He realized that he was a "
flavor" in this program. Chinese is somehow like salt in the pure AMG
programs. Without salt, the entire meal tends to be blank. A little bit salt
makes the soup tasty. But too much salt makes the soup suck. So it is not
surprising to see that there is one Chinese in pure AMG program like urology
. But the same program will not add another Chinese in unless this Chinese
gets out the program. It is not b/c that CMG is not excellent. It is b/c the
prg does not want too much Chinese culture to undermine the mainstay
program culture. So that CMG concluded that you might hit the jackpot if you
apply to those pure AMG program like urology, radiology, ophthalmology . | s********o

england. Not so sure. When he was a PGY1, he was over 40 yrs old. |
