发帖数: 328 | 8 You have better chance to go into general surgery (preliminary) if your
English is good enough but you are much less likely to enter general surgery
(categorical) program. The general surgery preliminary is usually
nondesignated, i.e., you must compete fiercely for PGY2 GS positions (I
think that this step is more difficult to get a PGY1 position). If I were
you and have more than 4 yrs residency in China, I would go for general
surgery fellowship first. |

混的很好的.

发帖数: 328 | 11 It is hard to be the chief surgeon unless you are super in procedures or
undergoing residency training. If you just finish fellowship, chances are
very slim. This is USA instead of China. In this country, you can be a
doctor in whatever specialties. Do not blame la. In European countries or
Japan, it is almost impossible to be a doctor. |

fellowship. Connections in China is way way high yielding. Knowing some VIPs
is far more important than doing any fellowships or residency in US.
Knowledge, papers and experiences etc are much less yielding unless you are
exceptional. For example you have 2 first author articles in Nature. How to
get connections in China? Learn how to corrupt, learn whom and how to
flatter, learn how to cheat, learn how to lie, learn whom to sleep with if
you are female, learn how to marry, learn how capable your parents or
parents in law are, learn who are your relatives or friends etc..... Don't
spend any time doing benchwork or reading FA. Just a waste of time...

。 老印很强悍，他们都是做2-3个fellowship的。当然导师也都是大牛中的大牛 |

certain level of interpersonal skills, but that level is far below from the
PD's expectation and the requirement of clinic work. A test is just a test,
not a mirror reflection of your true skills. |

国内：一般人月收入3－4千（城市），医生8千－1万二，2.5-3倍左右
很多发达国家的这个比例都在3－5之间。
