各位兄弟姐妹，
又一轮申请开始了，祝大家好运！多多交流，互通信息！
不知道休斯顿有多少兄弟姐妹在考版、申请。除了网上的交流，in person的交流也很
重要。希望屯子附近的有意见面交流的兄弟姐妹也出来聚聚。我抛砖引玉，准备在10月
1号在休斯敦搞个聚会。根据人数多少、申请的专业，我会请几个内科、病理、外科的
住院医、fellow跟大家聊聊。
不过，刚来休斯顿，不象在纽约有那么多年积累的的资源，特别是ACAP，所以还得请大
家一起帮忙。主要是场地。如果有兄弟姐妹可以弄到场地最好。如果不行，有几个选择
：人少的话，可以在家里或者是小区的club，人多的话，我们一个休斯敦的ID帮忙联系
了一个华人church。
如果凡是正在申请、考版的兄弟姐妹都欢迎，不过根据场地大小、报名人数，priority
给今年正在申请的人。这次的重点谈如何面试、面试准备、常见问题等等。当然根据来
的兄弟姐妹的准备的阶段，也可以谈一下考试报名、准备等等。

请有兴趣的同学尽早报名，我们会在两周后将大家的问题总结好，转交给哲别和其他有
关专业的前辈，争取给大家提供最好的指导交流机会。

Be more active, talk to peers, seniors and technicians – otherwise
people think you don’t want to communicate
Don’t be aggressive, don’t trouble others – too nosy at the beginning
is hard to reverse the bad impression later.
Don’t complain in the hospital.
Don’t be afraid to ask, you are supposed to ask as an intern. This also
shows your interest. Don’t assume. Don’t ruin the sample.
Follow the rules, attending, hospital, HIPPA, rank matters, seniors have
the top priority.
Study the slides – study group
Take advantage of research background – promote the program – abstract
/ paper, more interactions with the attendings which lead to strong LOR.
Career Plan
ASAP once settle down, especially for hot area like Derm and GI.

Q: what is best intern?
A: reliable intern.
Psy: if you have keen interest of psy, you can go for it. You will have
followship after training as the number of followship in Psy is more than
the number of application.
Communication is very important in psy. How do you improve spoken English:
1.listen: squeeze time everyday to listen like ESL podcast-previous episodes.
2.speak wtih tutor: correct wrong pronounciation
One path intern:Set a goal, do a little bit day by day and gradually you
move toward to your goal. Be proactive in application.
主动出击，才能成。
Shine: pay attention to details and try best to do it perfectly. Be honest,
reasonable and reliable person. 虚心求教，自己要做好基本的工作，不要用小事问
人，不用basic question to bother others. The process of match is the process
of 提高整体素质。决定做，就做下去。
