1. background stuff: spend 5-10 minutes to read news especially health
related to news—for excellent small talk content
2. 成信为本，contact with physician: dress and manner: more formal, better. Appearance is
close to the other team member, don’t be too outstanding/wired. Don’t ask
too much private questions. Bottom line to deal with the others: it is
pleasant to work with.
3. Observership : Everyone can be your teacher: medical students.
4. More friends better. Background can help you know what questions will
be asked. First impression would be very good.
5. If attending everyday is different. Look attending if he/she is nice,
the chance is to get reference is better. Ask and get close to this
attending. Ask nurse if this attending likes to teach student ect. Go with
this attending, he/she will know you well and the letter can be stronger.
6. Ob: have to see the tasks. Put your shoes into residency/intern. Smart
phone is important.
Medical student is very familiar with all technology. We have weakness and
we don’t use new technology, we won’t catch up. 先天不足，后天不足
7. Recommendation letter: nice person, ask it and ask with eye contact:
would you give me a strong letter to support my application. If the person
is not sure, you have to be very careful. You can ask letter now and write
draft. If u are repeat applicant, you can ask for letter now with same AAMIC
number. You can submit the letters by yourself. If you have done ob long time ago, you

我是初来乍到麦地，在此也分享下我的部分笔记。
1) Each period of OB, have one letter, attending Email address and phone #,
draft letter.
2) Each of programs has 4letters. Research supervisor close to your clinical
program
3)Strong letter (AMCID), send by myself via mail better than electrical
submit.
4) Ask for letter in May, remind once in first June, before July 1.
Complete package send to ERAS September 1
5) Person statement link to you letter.
6) Part time OB for 1-2 years, in patient OB I month.
7) Take Physical note, physical exam, physical history.
8) Sub internship for medical student.
9) Medical documentation, take medical notes, team work. Learn how the
system work.
10) Tell me yourself, why our program, what your weakness, what your
strength.
11) Why so long gap?
I got fresh America experience.
You are right , the gap is very long to me. However ,I try my best to
improve my clinical knowledge.
12) Tell PD or PC/interviewer your detail stories. Don’t repeat ERASE CV.
13) Weakness, communication is challenging
14) Don’t talk patient beyond 15 mins.
