发帖数: 160 | 1 周三和老板meeting，讨论毕业日期，本来说好今年年底毕业的，结果老板想让我再多
待一个学期，就是明年5月毕业，差不多刚好是我考step1的时间。。。正纠结要不要从
了。。。
偶老板人属于超好的那种，也不push，现在虽然要做实验，但每天在lab也能抽出一些
时间看书，感觉准备考试还蛮好的，所以，觉得推迟一个学期毕业也没什么不好，而且
meeting的时候居然斗着胆子和老板说，如果明年5月毕业，希望能在1月或2月先答辩，
因为要考board，想错开时间，老板居然木有生气，还say ok，说我的确要时间study。
犹豫的地方是，如果推迟到明年5月毕业，那个时候又要找工作面试，怕和考试时间冲
突。但如果现在毕业的话，现在就得找工作，然后去一个新lab，又怕没法像现在这样
看书。。。纠结ing。。。
最近累的严重缺乏判断力，求建议！

same time and it is doable.
Is it possible to discuss with your current boss to stay in his/her lab for
a little bit longer even after defence?

you cannot stay there. If not, generally speaking, they would like to have
you in your lab since you are the most experienced. |

发帖数: 160 | 5 Yes, it's possible. That's what the original plan is. i guess the only
reason that he wanna stretch me to spring now is to save his money, as he
needs to pay twice as much as a graduate for a postdoc.
would it be better to stay in the same place until all steps r done? is this
what u mean? i personally do not wanna stay for longer, but if it is good
for taking USMLE. I would consider it.

发帖数: 160 | 7 thnx...hope i will be able to manage all things at once like u O(∩_∩)O
my concern really is if joining a new lab works well for step 1 prep.
i don't think i can stay in the same place till all steps r done...i would
say one year at most after defense, so sooner or later i will have to start
job-hunting during the prep of USMLE...not sure what time is a good point...
..
