Scientist – MRI Coil Design
1. Position Summary:
The position is located in Philips’s Shanghai lab and will play an
important role in the development of new concept of coil designs. The right
candidate will have a unique opportunity to create innovative designs that
not only is worth of publication but can be put into the portfolio of RF
Coil products. The post will suit a skilled RF scientist ideally familiar
with MRI and RF Coil development.
2. Key Responsibilities/Duties:
• Design, development and fabrication of RF coil prototypes
• Circuit simulation and analysis
• Support the development of production/test methodologies within
the company, working closely with production engineering function to ensure
effective transfer of new designs into production.
• Create patent applications and submit publications
3. Job Requirements:
Essential skills
• A first degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or
Physics
• Skilled in RF circuit analysis
• Demonstrated knowledge of electromagnetic theory
• Familiarity with RF test equipment
• Strong computing skills
• Committed to good design and have a good eye for detail.
• Strive to ensure designs are completed within the agreed
timeframe to a high standard.
• Good communication skills to help work well within a multi-
disciplinary research team.
Desired competency
• Post graduate expertise of RF coil design
• Knowledge of using simulation tools/packages: EM, mechanical
• Expertise in the design of RF electronics and/or antenna design
between 10MHz and 400MHz.
• Previous industrial expertise in RF Coil product development
