Zhu Ling, the victim of a thallium poisoning case in China 19 years ago, is
badly suffering from the residual effect. The diaphragmatic paralysis,
severe atrophy of her right lung, and the weak respiratory function present
the biggest threat to her. Tracheostomy was conducted and suction device is
being used. Dr. John Adis, a former U.S. Embassy doctor who visited Zhu
Ling and reviewed her chest x-ray before, also pointed out that the lung
problem presents the biggest threat to her life.
