agree, i don't think you need a neurologist for herniated disc, it's

surgery) the disease involved the nerve system ( brain, spine, peripheral
nerves and muscles).
Neurosurgery specialty mainly use surgical skill to treat the disease
involved the nerve system ( mainly the brain, spine). In USA, neurosurgeons
need 6-7 years resident training, someones take another 1-2 years
fellowship for subspecialty before they became attending neurosurgeon. They
have more training in the spine.

show disc problem may not necessary completely comparable with the symptoms.
It is not unusual that several causes may integrate together. Neurologist
is the one to help to figure out.
