经病，听力障碍，终生耳聋。国内的医生说就算戴助听器最好也只能恢复到50%，请问
大家这个跟孩子太小坐飞机回去有关系吗？有什么办法能治疗或者是让孩子有所改善？
有美国这边好的治疗耳聋的专科医生或者医院推荐吗？朋友夫妇现在很伤心，一边打电
话一边哭。希望能得到大家的帮助，谢谢了！ |

What is the level of the hearing impairment? Sounds like severe to profound.
If the kid's cochlear anatomy is intact and hearing nerve functions well,
he can receive a cochlear implant. With intensive rehabilitation after a
successful implantation, the kid can learn to hear and speak as normal
hearing peers. Let the heart-broken parents know there is hope.
Time is of the essence. The earlier the implantation is done, the better the
outcome. Babies as young as 1 |

won't work.
Sounds more like central auditory processing disorders to me.
I don't know the medical treatment for CAPD, but his parents should
definitely work on his communication skills, like lip reading, using sign
language or even communication devices etc.

congenital, I would say...
Sounds get into his ears fine, but when he starts to process those sounds,
they become distorted.

much.
