好像这边治疗糖尿病的药都是处方药，不知道这种情况如何开处方，有没有买过的人可

This is one thing I could not understand at all. It is not like there is no
治疗糖尿病的药.
糖尿病 is treatable, but very few people can be cured. So practically, 糖尿
病人 must take medications for the whole life, and they probably should seek
local doctor's advice. | w******3

发帖数: 771 | 5 The occurrence rate of diabetics in China is increasing alarmingly fast.
Recent survey published last year indicated that China has catched up with
the Western countries on diabetics in the past two decades.
7-9% of whole population in USA is diabetic, China has the same number now,
comparing to ~3% in 80s last century.
Among these, the majority is type II diabetics. There is no efficient way to
treat it, unfortunately. Diabetics itself develops slowly. However, once in
the fully developed stage, it is difficult to reverse the process.
So prevention, or work on pre-diabetics will be important. In general,
genetics, infection, obesity, and inactivity are considered related to
diabetics. But we can only effectively control the last two: reducing body
weight and increasing activity.
As for the diabetics patient, sugar control needs to be done. In long term,
diabetics patients may develop heart attack, kidney problem, glaucoma, and
infections. It is not uncommon to hear these complications in diabetic
patients, say, you will occasionally hear somebody had feet amputated from
complication. Generally, it is considered that lowering blood sugar can slow
or deter complications, while it is always true. The thing is this process
is slow, these complications only show up at year 15 after diabetics. So the
important thing is to control blood sugar level even the patient does not
have acute complications. Very unfortunately, not many patients in China has
this knowledge, and the doctors in Chinese do not have enough time to
educate the patients.
I have relatives who has diabetics, I fell morally responsible to educate
them. Actually, it does not take long to get this information, a Wiki
webpage reading will lead them there. However, not many old people know how
to get this.
So back to your question, I would leave the medications to Chinese doctors.
All medications have side-effects, and usually the old ones are better in
sense of safety because they are on market for a long time, they must have a
reason to stay.
