BP PLC is teaming up with U.S.-based Chevron Corp. to bid for a South China
Sea exploration block, a person familiar with the matter said, signaling
that the U.K. company's failure to stop a Gulf of Mexico oil-well leak isn't
deterring rival producers from choosing it as a partner in deep-water
projects.
Chevron will have a 60% stake in the block and act as operator, with BP
