The alleged ill-treatment of S Balachandran, an Indian diplomat posted at t
he consulate in Shanghai, and two Indian employees of an Yemeni firm by loca
l Chinese authorities in the city of Yiwu, about 300 kms from Shanghai, has
led to a strong protest by the Government of India to the Chinese embassy in
New Delhi [ Images ] on January 2.
The incident started with the illegal detention and ill-treatment of the two
Indian employees of the Yemeni firm by local Chinese traders and authoritie
s who allegedly held them accountable for the failure of the Yemeni firm to
pay its dues to local Chinese traders.
It has been further alleged that the China-based Yemeni head of the company
disappeared making the Indian employees face the wrath of the Chinese trader
s and authorities.
When Balachandran went to the city to provide consular assistance to the two
Indians and get them released, he himself became the victim of ill-treatmen
t by the authorities and the court which was dealing with the case against t
he Indians.
It has been reported that Balachandran, who is a severe diabetic, was denied
access to food for nearly six hours during which period he had to remain in
court. He reportedly collapsed as a result.
There is so far no reason to believe that any official of the Chinese minist
ry of foreign affairs was involved in the incident. The ill-treatment allege
dly meted out to Balachandran and the two Indian employees of the Yemeni fir
m was apparently by the local authorities who seem to have been acting at th
e behest of the Chinese to whom the Yemeni company owed money.
The incident illustrates the dangers of foreigners doing business in some sm
all towns of China where the local authorities often collude with local Chin
ese businessmen in harassing foreign businessmen and traders.
At the same time, this incident has come in the wake of the detention of a n
umber of Indian diamond merchants by the Chinese authorities for months foll
owing allegations of illegal trading practices by them.
Collusion of local Chinese authorities with Chinese businessmen and traders
having unresolved disputes with foreigners is often seen and the Chinese aut
horities in their ministry of foreign affairs have generally not been known
for their vigorous intervention in such matters. They tend to treat casually
complaints of misbehaviour and ill-treatment against their local authoritie
s and businessmen.
The Government of India should insist on strong action against those respons
ible in the instant case while discouraging our media from blowing the incid
ent out of proportion.
At a time when there is still considerable prejudice against the Chinese in
sections of Indian civil society, such incidents would create a bad taste in
our mouth and tend to strengthen the anti-Chinese prejudices.

China supports NE militants in India.
China supports Pakistan, Iran, N. Korea with nukes.
China is illegally captured Tibet which is integral
part of India.

Indians must stop buying Chinese made goods !

China has eyes on capturing territory in Arunachal, J&K. China will never be
our friend; its our enemy and will remain Pak's friend.
Its shocking to see that as much as 90% goods sold in various Malls all over
the country are "Made in China". Our Indian manufacturing is suffering ONLY
due to such third rate imports. WTO or no WTO, furget Govt. banning imports
from China, let our people stop buying anything thats made in China. This w
ill (a) badly hurt China as their exports to India worth Rs. 25,000 crores w
ill disappear reducing their growth and (b) revive India's mfg. sector and (
c) Chnia will then stop misbehaving with India & brought to senses.
PLEASE I APPEAL EVERYONE THAT LET US STOP BUYING ANY CHINESE GOODS.

Hence their food comprises of discarded animal parts and insects because of

Students in the US build more self-confidence and are much better at public
speaking. Indian students on the other hand find it hard to learn to speak u
p or express their opinions. Classroom discussion and asking questions to th
e professors is encouraged. However, in India, professors expect you to trea
t them like Go0d and often use their almost dictorial powers against student
s who upset them in some way. The American school system lays stress on indi
vidual ability development and encourages kids to express themselves and the
ir opinions from an early age. As a result, most Americans are way better at
getting their point across as compared to people from other countries.

发帖数: 14642 | 17 就是整体工业水平跟不上来啊，除了人力便宜（其实也未必便宜，国人工资高些，但效
率也高狠多）外运输，水电，上下游供应链，通讯成本都贵了。前段时间看个报道，啊
三公路太烂，灯泡厂出货的成品都要花很大精力加固包装，不然在坑洼的路上可能损失
惨重。就是这样的工业硬件跟不上来所以啊三的制造业才这么落后
