Along with the cultural breakdown, these kids don't face any punishment at
home. Society has looked the other way on child discipline. I bet their
parents won't do a think let alone spank or smack them with a belt in fear
they might be reported on child abuse. There's a big difference when you
spank or smack your child with belt or shoe, vs going for pure harm. That's
discipline and alot of us grew up straighter because of it. Gone are the
days.

I was always against spanking until I was talking with my mother in law
about the issue. She used to spank her kids (my husband included) and she
said she had no doubt that she would do the same if she were raising her
children today. Then she asked if my mother ever spanked me. I thought about
it for a moment and remembered that she had one time. I had taken a cookie
off of a cookie sheet while it was cooling despite the fact that Mom had
told me - many times - that I could burn myself and needed to wait. She took
me over her knee and gave me three good cracks on my rear end. I never,
ever took a cookie without asking again. Never.
