Beijing抯 subway system is the longest in the world, numbering 275 miles and

ment subsidies. As tourism grows within China, a debate has arisen over prop
er subway etiquette; reports of physical fights and kids urinating in subway
cars helped prompt a new Beijing law intended to curb uncouth habits.

No. 6 Guangzhou, China
Annual Ridership: 1.83 billion
Guangzhou抯 subway opened in 1997 and quickly became indispensable. With 144
stations, it抯 the third busiest system in China梐nd the most scandal ridde
n. In 2005, the operating company came under fire for allowing employees and
their relatives to ride for free. In 2010, another scandal erupted around a
lleged fraud in quality inspections. A sinkhole that developed in January 20
13 at a subway construction site consumed several houses. And the latest upr
oar occurred in June 2013 after construction work destroyed 2,000- to 3,000-
year-old underground tombs.
No. 7 New York City
Annual Ridership: 1.65 billion
On an average weekday, more than 195,000 riders pass through Times Square, t
he most congested of New York抯 468 stations (and, not coincidentally, the g
ateway to the world抯 most visited tourist attraction). Next comes Grand Cen
tral, whose vaulted ceilings gleam with the constellations of the night sky.
Although complaining about the subway sometimes feels like a favorite pasti
me among New Yorkers, this is one of the few subway systems that operates 24
/7梐n accomplishment that front-runners Tokyo and Seoul can抰 claim.

中国铁193公里，地铁8公里。
韩城地铁公司4条线一共140公里，首尔特别市都市铁道公社4条线170公里，9号线公司
27公里，一共有25亿乘客，显然不如北京。加上其他线路有35亿，但是线路长度加起来
都1000公里了。
现在北京是32亿，汉城上海莫斯科都是25亿，东京23亿（不包括国铁和私铁）。另外现
在广州都20亿了。

历史上广州从来都是华南第一城
要不是香港和深圳崛起，广州没有被列为直辖市
