university and a state senator. Eventually, he was a U.S. senator
representing the state.
But it took his move into the White House for a number of those in South
Chicago to discover what they really think about him.
“He’s going to go down as being one of the worst presidents. Ever!” said
one man. “If he cannot pay attention to Chicago and the African-American
community he needs to resign.”
One man called Bill Clinton, not Obama, ‘the African-American president.”
The video and story appeared on the Gateway Pundit blog but comes from the
Rebel Pundit, which explained it was Friday when Chicago’s Southside
residents “held a protest in front of the Chicago Police Department against
the intolerable violence plaguing their communities.”
And, the report said, they “sounded off on President Obama for paying favor
to illegal aliens crossing the southern border.”
Reports say at least 120 people have been shot, including 26 fatally, in
July in Chicago.
So far.
One man compared the present conditions to that of African-Americans during
slavery.
“If you look at the time that we were brought here as slaves 400 years ago,
we got the same results today.”
Another resident, a woman, said, “Mr. President, we’re asking for you. You
’re spending billions of dollars in Texas, but we’ve a problem here in
Chicago. We will not stand by this here, and keep letting this senseless
killing and shooting happen in our community.”
Yet another said, “It’s like we live in a Beirut somewhere. … Police run
up and down the street.”
And yet another asked Obama to have the “same love for these young people
like you have for those coming across the border.”
On the Rebel Pundit blog, commenters blasted out their opinions on
everything from weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, President Bush and
abortion to Obamacare.
But one from an “ohio granny” was pertinent.
“The reality is that if Obama could run again the black community would
likely vote in lockstep for him again. He is the worst president ever for
many reasons. If blacks would open their eyes they would see that the
Democrat party’s treatment of them is because they know no matter how they
treat them, they have their votes. The Democrats are buying Hispanics just
like they have bought blacks (sic) votes.”
Another added, “One of the sleeper issues surrounding the debate on amnesty
for illegal immigrants – an inconvenient one that no proponent of a
widespread amnesty wishes to acknowledge – is the devastating effect so-
called immigration reform will have on African Americans. The black
unemployment rate is almost 11 percent, far higher than that of any other
group profiled by labor statistics.”
The Gateway Pundit called it a “must see video,” and said, “So much for
Hope and Change – Chicago southside African-Americans GO OFF on President
Obama.” |
