发帖数: 2000 | 1 HOUSTON, TX — Three men are facing capital murder charges for the execution
-style murder of Bao and Jenny Lam last week.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez announced the arrest of the three suspects
during a new conference at the Harris County Sheriff's Office in Houston on
Wednesday afternoon.
"The nature of this crime was very brutal," Gonzalez said. "Mr. and Mrs Lam
were executed. We feel that these individuals may have committed other
violent crimes."
The bodies of the 61-year old couple were discoverd Jan. 13 after members of
the Lam family called deputies for a welfare check, after not hearing from
the couple for several days.
The Lam's were found tied up and shot to death inside their home, and
investigators said the home had been ransacked.
Lt. Christopher Sandoval, homicide investigator with the Harris County
Sheriff's Office, said their office recieved several tips about the Lincoln
Navigator seen in a surveillance video relased on Tuesday, which led them to
the three suspects who were arrested Wednesday.
So far, one of those men has confessed to the cime, Sandoval said.
"We have filed capital murder charges on the three suspects," Sandoval said.
"We will continue to tie up loose ends relative to the investigation, and
it just can't be said enough that we thank our partners in the community who
came forward and provided the information that was necessary to take care
of this case."
The Harris County Sheriff's Office released surveillance video on Jan. 16
that was recorded Jan 11 outside of the front gate of the couple's
subdivision.
The video showed a Lincoln Navigator pulling to the front of the subdivision
and two men getting out and crawling under the gate.
Shortly after the men crawled under the gate, the Lam's were recorded
driving into the subdivision in their grey Porsche.
Investigators believe the two men ambushed the Lams when the arrived home a
short time later, and forced them into their home where they were tied up,
robbed, and murdered.
On Jan. 12, at about 2:30 a.m., video surveillance shows the Lam's gray
Porsche leave the subdivision, and return a short time later and remained at
the scene until about 6:30a.m. when the driver, returned to the Navigator
and drove away, followed by the Porsche.
It appears that the suspects returned to the Lam's home several times
between their initial assault on Thursday night and when the Lam's bodies
were discovered on Saturday evening.
Investigators said guns, jewlery and other valuables were stolen from inside
the home, and the Porsche was also stolen, but was recovered the day after
the bodies were discoverd.
Sandoval said the men who were arrested had property with them that had been
taken from the Lam home, linking them to the crime.
Richard Lam, the couple's son who was there when deputies arrived at the
home on Saturday, thanked the sheriff's office for working so hard and so
quickly to make an arrest.
"We are relieved to have these three men off the streets, no longer able to
harm anyone else," Lam said.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office is expected to release more information
