USA is not transparent! I am from Georgia, USA, and our state is a bit more
open about the virus than other states. However, we still get most of our
information from the Federal level. I know 5 people in the last month that
have gone to the hospital with flu-like symptoms.
None of them have been given a test because you must have a high-grade fever
that does not go down. We eat Tylenol like candy here, of course, the
fevers are going to go down. So we send them home with "the flu" and tell
them to go back to work when they feel able.
I have folks telling that some of the hospital staff wear masks, and
protective gear, some don't. As a capitalist country, the focus is on
businesses, and for the people, it is getting to work because we don't have
extra money to pay for utilities, food, housing, and car payments. Many
people who work service and retail were told that they were laid off for now
for a month or two. Our government system and healthcare are a jumbled mess
that needs an overhaul. We need leaders with experience, we need folks in
charge of our healthcare who understands pandemic, outbreaks, and who also
understand government. With that said, we are going in circles blaming Obama
, Hilary, democrats, and the communists.
Instead of taking this whole thing seriously, we have trump and GOP
supporters still going around saying it is a democrat/communist hoax. The
USA communist and socialist parties here are lumped together by the GOP and
the president. So to answer a question, why Americans don't demand answers?
We do, but sometimes it just feels like we are beating our heads against a
brick wall. We have our election this year, with Bernie Sanders who is a
democrat socialist and Joe Biden who is a centrist looking to go against
trump.
We need our healthcare to be a single-payer(Medicare for All) so that we
have one place to go to that can help respond better, to know what is
covered, and to make the data of our healthcare centralized so that it can
be easily shared. For now, private insurance, private hospitals, and private
doctors may or may not share crap with anyone. They just want to look like
we don't have a problem so that this crisis does not take money from the CEO
, and board. I will get off my soapbox, for now. |
