there are 3 taxes living in Great Neck:
1. Country Tax (everyone has to pay)
2. School Tax (everyone has to pay)
3. Village Tax (pay only if you live in one of the 7 incorporated villages
in Great Neck. If where you live is not a part of any village, then you don'
t have to pay.
living in one of those villages does has some benefit, like ur own village swimming pool, private beach park, just to name a few. they are for village dwellers only and varies village by village.
of course, great neck itself also has a lot of parks, water park that anyone, regardless of which village or no village at all can go, as long as you;re a resident of GN. they are closed to non-residents, though you can bring a certain number of guests.
In general, 1+2 is about 1.5% of you property value. this rate is a little
lower than most towns in NJ, but not by much. It is a lot lower than most
towns in westchester
#3 depends on which village you are in . on average about $3K on an average
size 10,000 sq ft property... but i could be off, since i only know mine.
with #3, the tax could be a little higher than NJ, but not by much. | p******a
