Great City, Great Love
One thing that is good about being in New York City is the experience of
watching "Sex and the City" in the City. I can actually connect myself with
those characters in the show. The show itself is not only about sex, but it
also gives me inspiration about living in New York City and finding love in
the City.
For every woman who loves the City, she is officially dating the city. She
will not allow anyyone talking shit about her boyfriend. Just like a
relationship, nothing is prefect in New York City. When I wake up everyday
by the UPS delivery truck, when every time I almost run over by the cab
driver, I feel frustrated by the City. Even the greatest city in the world
wouldn’t give me what I expected, why should I expect to find a prefect
boyfriend? Because of me putting myself out there to experience the
greatness of New York City, regardless of all the noises, garbage, and
frustrations, I still fell in love with the City.
Should I put myself out there to fall in love again? How many great loves
can a person have in one’s life? One, two or many? If comparing to those
people who never actually have a great love before, I consider myself lucky.
I am lucky to have a great love once. However it followed by a sad breakup.
How many breakups can one bear in one’s life? If the number of breakups
is equivalent to the number of great loves that we can have in our life, do
we then still believe in love? If one’s heart has broken up for so many
times, will it still bear another breakup? Maybe because of all the breakups
it has, it will hurt no more?
I survived this breakup. I will still standup and be strong when it comes
next time. Just like all the frustrations the City gave me for past four
years. I did not give up. Instead, I give myself to the City. I am pretty
much in love with the City now. Even though it is tough out there, I can
manage to handle it. It is really not that bad.
So I think I should not give up believing in love. I am a nice gal, a nice
New York City gal. I deserve to be loved and I am willing to love again.
Just like my love to New York City, my love to love will never go away until
I cannot breath again! | G****a
