This will be ok:
Open fidelity account for both Me and LD.
Half year to me to get the 50K mileage (say UA mileage or AA mileage ) for
me
and half year to get AA mileage for LD from fidelity,
so one year we can get 100k mileage from Fidelity
it will be sounded for 1.5K interest or 2k (if peak time use this mileage)
It will be better than bankdirect which have monthly fee
Please comment my strategy , thanks |

fidelity 1099?)
Your interests will be subject to taxes(because online bank default is
you use W9) For F-1 students, you can file NR form, and also attached the
1099 to ask for the withholding back (or no need to claim the interest in
your NR form box) |

you are not having $1000K or more. $100K can be transferred out from China
to US by online banking system without any issue (of course from two
accounts). Unless you believe Chinese government will go down suddenly,
there is no uncertainty at all if you are just investing in those money-
market funds or government bonds with 4-5% annual return
Anyway 2% no risk return is a very good investment in the US.
