gesture in District 12 which is occasionally seen in funerals to signify
thanks, admiration or goodbye to someone you love.
Katniss also made the same gesture when Rue was killed in the Hunger Games
to show her gratitude and love for Rue. And Rue’s district returned the 3-
finger salute to Katniss but it was taken as a form of rebellion by the
Capitol because different districts aren’t supposed to admire or care for
each other nor do a gesture which isn’t its own.
