Someone's theory on the Prometheus forum
xenomorph was the biological weapon of the space jockey for ancient war. The
ship carrying the eggs of xenomorph landed on LC426 because the pilot was
infected. This is how the story of alien started.
Either all the eggs of xenomorph was lost or the SJ thought xenomorph was
not good enough, they developed the new weapon based on the NDA of xenomorph
. This is why the life cycle of xenomorph was shown on the mural.
This also explained why the alien came out of the engineer in the movie was
different from xenomorph.
The movie showed the green stone in the altar room and did not mention what
was its purpose. It might be explained in the sequel.
The other mural showed a space jockey petting an alien life form. Someone
speculated that it was what the geologist turned into. It looks different
from xenomorph.
