! I'm concerned that proximity to large metro areas is skewing the numbers
too greatly. FSU is located far afield from any sizable metro areas, but if
you have ever lived anywhere in Florida the notion that there are nearly
twice as many Miami fans as FSU fans would be a true shocker (see. e.g., the
empty seats at Dolphins Stadium). There's got to be some garbage in/garbage
out problem with the data or assumptions here. Did you consider merchandise
sales? Those are a decent short-run barometer (TV ratings as well).
