还是初中的教材是他们学校编写的。。。南边跟bayside差不多，有些地方还不如

that great. The asian population in the south is about 50%, some residents
of new hyde park also goes to the south school
the asian population in the north is about 15%..
rich folks in either north or south go to private schools anyway.. only the
truely poor and the working poor goes to public school..
i picked north when i bought my house... i knew the south school is better,
but with more than 50% of asian in the school, I was afraid that my daughter
would be deprived of the fun growing up and have a difficult time meeting
the stiff competition...

Students from all five boroughs of New York City are eligible to apply to
Townsend Harris and are selected through a competitive screening process
rather than by a single entrance exam. Admission for entering ninth-grade
students is based on 7th-grade standardized-test scores, final report card
grades, and attendance.
To be considered for admission, students must have:
•An overall average of 90% or higher. The classes that are included
in the average are English, Math, Social Studies, Science and a Language
other than English (e.g., French, Spanish, etc.) When there is no grade for
Language, only the 4 core classes are included.
•A standardized reading score at or above the 90th percentile. (For
students who took the 7th grade NYS English Language Arts assessment in
Spring 2011, the 90th percentile is equivalent to a score of 682.)
•A standardized math score at or above the 90th percentile. (For
students who took the 7th grade NYS Math assessment in Spring 2011, the 90th
percentile is equivalent to a score of 713.)
•A record of excellent attendance and punctuality.
(Students with higher averages and scores are much more likely to be
selected.)
