Broken DC Jack SYMPTOMS
*The power LED and/or battery charge LED flicker when you move the power
cord and/or the AC Adapter tip on the back of the laptop
*Laptop suffers from instantaneous power-downs for no reason
*Unit only runs when you keep the power cord and /or plug in a certain
position
*Movement of the AC power adapter plug causes power glitches or outages
*Strange clicking noises coming from the area near the power plug
*Unit refuses to start or charge a good battery
*Unit appears to be dead when you plug the AC adapter into the laptop
*Sudden shut off without any warning
*Laptop only runs on battery power
*Laptop smells of burnt wiring or material
If you answered yes to any of these, you probably have a broken DC jack.
