我现在在湾区，最近在和波特兰的一家电子公司谈offer的事情，但对portland情况不
是很了解。能不能请大家帮忙，看看能不能给点儿建议。
1. 波特兰的收入税是多少？比加州怎样？
2. 我博士毕业有一年工作经验，应该要多少工资合适？公司的主要客户是intel。
3. Portland 没什么朋友，请问中国人生活的环境怎样？查了一下>90% 是白人，对中
国人有没有歧视？
4. day care 和 school 怎样？
5. 工作环境怎样？我老婆学accounting的，在波特兰能找到工作吗？她也许还想读一
个master，请问周围的学校accounting的program 怎样？
如果真的去了Portland，以后还要和大家多联系，听说Portland版聚挺热闹的，版主功
劳大大的呀！

1. the income tax is higher than CA, 9% from $5000
2. It varies, I dont know
3. I dont feel any racial discrimination here
4. I don't know, maybe other ppl can have some input?
5. Not my field, I think it still varies. You could find the program info on

depends on your income..... for your level, probably almost the same; Oregon
has a flat rate of 9% for anything over 5000. but CA has laddered rate from
1% to 11% depends on buckets... you can do a calculation based on your
income.
Oregon does not have sales tax though... :)
there are some websites you can check the average salary difference between
locations; it is probably a bit lower than bay area but not much for EE.
never felt it so far... and more and more Chinese are coming anyway..... :
