发帖数: 5681 | 1 IRS claim we didn't file our 2008 tax return, after we got audited back
in May 2010. We provide paperwork to prove that we did. After several
paperwork exchange over course of several months (they are really SLOW
in replying), they came to a conclusion that we didn't file our tax
return and fine us for $690+. How hard can it be to prove it? We send
in a copy of IRS redeemed check and the paperwork we filed back
in 2008. I was going to call Tax Master to resolve this but decided to
pay the fine and get it over with. No time to hassle with IRS, since we
got a little boy in the house.
In April 2011, they froze one of our bank accounts and put a hold on our
2010 tax return. My wife calls in and spends almost 50 hours on the
phone with them. IRS's phone system is so ancient and keeps dropping
the call. Every time when you return the call, you have to go through
one hour of waiting period and several transfers between departments; in
order to get to the right person. But that doesn't mean your call will
go through. It might be drop again during the conversation. Finally,
IRS found out the return envelop they provided to us has wrong returning
address. They didn’t receive any of our paperwork. WHAT THE HECK!!
We send in all paperwork AGAIN to the correct address and wait for their
reply. Thought this was the end of the hell. Out of nowhere in May
2011, IRS froze all our bank accounts and threat to take our asset away.
WTF! We are just in the middle of making an offer for a small property
downtown. Call in to IRS again and they told us they just received our
paperwork and it’s in the process. We ask them immediately release our
bank accounts. They said it will take up to two months before release
can be submitted after reviewing our paperwork. Damn… IRS!!! We got no
moneda($)! IRS made mistakes and we law abiding citizens have to
suffer. We should sue IRS for the loss of our valuable time and missing
great opportunity. Sigh!!
Just writing this to share horrible experience with people. Do not deal
IRS yourself. Call Tax Master or similar tax service provider to resolve
your tax problems. IRS can't be reasonable with and they are slow in
responding. They will wear you down. Lesson learned!!
PS. I hate writing! I am bad with words & grammar! XQSme!!
PPS. I should say... we do accept all donations, free iPad & iPhone and
free meals! Heehee!! :)

look
at why they are asking for more. if they are right, just pay the money and
everything is fine. if they are wrong, you need to explain.
we got a letter too this year and we just paid the money. We got another
letter a couple years back and they were wrong, and it did take some time to
clean it up, going to their downtown building to explain face to face is
better.

have a local office downtown PDX? Go in and sit down with them. Hand
deliver the paperwork. Now you should go in and sit down and have them
release all your accounts right then and there. You should be able to get a
release and take it to your bank if necessary.
Pat pat, don't get too upset. You are learning to deal with red tapes.

Not really upset with the whole situation but government's stupidity cause
inconvenience in our life. Can I really trust government with our money?
