3. A Show of “Amazing China” 魅力中国

To celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year – the Year of the Snake/the
Small Dragon, and bid farewell to the Year of the Dragon, the Confucius
Institute at Portland State University proudly presents a show of “Amazing
China” 魅力中国, showcasing Chinese opera, Chinese vocal music,
instrumental music, Chinese marshal art Wushu and acrobatics which was
performed by Confucius Institute of Chinese Opera at Binghamton University (
宾汉顿大学) with China’s national class-one performers from The National
Academy of Chinese Theater Arts (中国戏曲学院）. This event is co-sponsored
by Portland Chinese Times and PSU Chinese Students and Scholars Association.

Chinese New Year and Lantern Festival, and practice speaking Chinese with
the native Chinese speakers. We’ll teach you how to wrap Jiaozi and
Tangyuan.
Ms. Hao Hongwei from Confucius Institute will give a presentation about
Chinese Lunar New Year and Lantern Festival at 6:30 pm. And we will have a
Lantern Riddle Quiz which is a traditional game celebrating the festival.
