西部大漂流成功之后, 我们在NJ(PA)的BASE发展很快, 十多人的阵容, 已能独立组织
III级的白水KAYAKING活动, 同时NY州的实力也已突破十人, 也能独立组织有挑战的III
级活动, 与麻州形成三足鼎立之势.
漂流非我们唯一的目标, 我们举办过或感兴趣的几类活动有
1) II- IV的白水漂流
2) 静水 Kayaking
3)Sea Kayaking
4)Winter Hiking (有雪的山)
5)野雪和越野滑雪
6)River Camping 和用CANOE(或漂流的船) Explore Wilderness
近一俩年的我们北美计划包括每年的西部漂流(包括UTAH, CA, COLORADO, WYOMING,
MOTANA, IDAHO, NEW MEXICO, OREGON), 俩年内的ALASKA可能的初次漂流, 从水路探索
广大的加拿大(包括MAINE和ADIRONDACK)的WILDERNESS.
同时很多会员有各种独特的户外运动经验, 我们也愿意给同学们牵线搭桥, 集体的力量
能让我们 站得更高,昂看得更远.

海外的户外和国内相比分得很散, 也没矛盾, 可能与地域分部太广有关.
记得有一本书说过: 有挑战的CANOE漂流活动最好就4个人, 因为调解4人的矛盾就可能
达到组织者能忍受的极限.
回头一望, 这条集结探险的路是不一般,超越了很多很多不利因素, 我们需要更多的思
维和新的血液, 更多创造力去探索这个世界. | m****g

这是一本经典的老书, 虽然有点过时, 但是字里行间中不断闪烁漂流的精髓.
Wildwater is a tumbling mountain stream, barely deep enough to float a boat,
choked with boulders, lined with spruce and pine, dropping down out of the
high country in an alternation of crystal pools and sparking rapids...
Wilderwater is a wide, muddy-brown torrent surging between red sandstone
walls through desert canyons, tons of water towering up in twenty-foot waves
, exploding back onto itself in a chaos of foam.

if the overall surface of the river is somewhat rippled o r choppy, then a
smooth or glassy patch can be a tellltale sigh of a a large rock just
beneath the surface-- the kind of rock you always scrape over at first ,
even though it's the only rock in the whole river.
The first function of river reading is to help you avoid obstacles; the
second it to pick the right route. The latter comes into play.

there are two types of this kind of boat: old model and new model. The new
model is supposed to be better but I trust the old more. And the difference
it not too much.
They might use different names, but Sevylor Rio can't be wrong.
this is great boat.
We will let friends know the deals if we find them.

One question, the product name says canoe. Is that different from kayak?
You know, the type that rafting guides are and can do a Eskimo roll. Or
inflatables are all canoe? And why choose inflatables? For convenience?

, 破IV-的大浪能力是不错的, 在III的感觉相当与RAFT的IV级, who care about the
real class of rapid but we do care how how exciting from the kayaking.
长途特别是WILDERNESS, RAFT和CANOE是唯二的工具, inflatable canoe(kayak)就是介
于当中的东西, 弱点不太弱, 强点极强(方便实用安全SPORTY价格便宜GO ANYWHERE).
为什么美国人没有想到用这呐? 美国INFLATABLE一般是指KAYAK(SEVYLOR RIVER), 但是
IK不适合长途(座位不舒服, 不能承载GEAR).
I. Canoe就是另外一件事了, 而且SEVYLOR的CANOE和其他品牌不一样, 更象RAFT, 比其
他软硬CANOE都稳, 长途跋涉性能强大, 这条船是国内的人发现的, 我们充分扩张地.So

Difficult Rapids
Every boater senses his or her own limits, limits of comfort, limits of
safety, limits of competence. Good judgment dictates that you become aware
of your own limits, and respect them.
Two main forces of difficulty are found in harder rapids: obstacles and
obstructions requiring decisive mandatory maneuvering just to get through,

WILDERNESS主要有三种形式CANOE为主的水路, HIKING+BACKPACKING, 和SKI TOURING(
WILDERNESS SKIING). 中国人还是习惯于爬山和背包, 专功SKI TOURING少之又少, 水
路探险更是几乎没有.
但是从经典的"planning A wilderness Trip in Canada and Alaska", 只有在落基山,
水路和背包族旗鼓相当, 其他都是水路占绝对优势, 就是说广大的Canada and Alaska
, 除了落基山外>500万平方公里的土地基本靠船才能探索, 与几十万洋人划艇爱好者相
比屈指可数的中国人决定了这块土地没有中国人的足迹.
难吗危险吗? 未必. 几十万洋人的参与说明更多的要求是对自然的信仰和热情, 这是平
民探险者的乐园.
这周我们启动第一个WILDERNESS CAMPING, 用我们户外和漂流的经验和能力, 这条路是
