My experience with T-Mobile is a little bit easier.
First, buy a SIM from them, but don't activate it.
Call them and tell them you want to switch to the $30 unlimited data plan
and have a new unactivated SIM card.
That's it.
They can do it over the phone. I spoke to the guy and he said, he just needs
an unactivated SIM card and he can do the entire process over the phone -
including transferring the number. In fact, it's easier for him because he
just registers the SIM without a number, then transfers your number over. It
is easier than trying to replace the current number and porting your number
over. It goes through fewer people, and happens in minutes instead of days.
I didn't have any questions about combining balances, but I figure they can
do it all at the same time. |

不太明白转成全数据计划的好处，
在路上的时候不多，因此对我来说重要的是电话。
我现在转成了SIMPLE MOBILE的40刀无限电话，短信，数据计划
你可以在EBAY是先买一个SIMPLE MOBLE 的卡，一二刀吧，
我当时在他们的网站上买的，花了十三刀呀。
再买一个40刀的PIN，激活你的SIMPLE MOBILE的卡，
PORT你的老号的SIMPLE MOBILE，用无限计划一个月，
高兴了再转回TMOBILE去，到是就看你了，新用户，
怎么折磨TMOBILE都可以。
不过我一时半会儿不想回去了。 |

balance是转了，但是plan还是pay as you go.而且再打客服，直接跟我说不能用那个$
30 unlimited plan了。因为已经activate了。有成功的说一下。

应该先看上面这个帖子的，先选好plan，再转号码会比较靠谱。我的算是教训。准备再
去买一个sim card activation kit。

好plan 把新的sim 卡activate. 再找客服transfer number.

不要激活，打客服电话说你想把新号PORT到旧号，并要30的那个PLAN。

plan电话能激活？ 反正如果要生成新号，还不如自己online 激活靠谱吧

3 call T-Mobile to transfer old account balance to new number
4 immediately after 3 is done, de-activate old number then port the old
number to the new account |

You can make one call to do both 3 and 4 but they are two separate steps.
Usually your balance can be transferred immediately, but porting number
takes 1-2 days. So unfortunately if you use this method, you will be using a
new number for 1-2 days, then it gets back to the old number.
Maybe other people has a better method that won't change your number
temporarily. |

times then not they will put you on the $30/month 1500/min&text plan with
zero data and not the one under discussion here. Make sure you check after
the change. Technically the $30 plan with the unl data & text and 100 voice
is ONLY for new account and they won't always switch you if you have an
existing account.”
