刷了 4个小时 ，现在一个 做 路由 ，一个 做 media bridge 放楼上 ，现在楼上速
度比以前快一倍多 。 |

1. Install WinSCP, Putty, and a file archiver (click this link for ez).
Install the Asus Restore Utility, mirror.（所需软件在最底下几个link中）
2. Create a folder on your desktop, name it “router”.
3. Download this file and extract it to the newly made router folder. It
contains a firmware to downgrade to, a firmware to upgrade to, and mtd-write.

4. Set static IP for PC.
start > run > ncpa.cpl > double click Ethernet > properties > IPV4 >
IP: 192.168.29.5
Subnet: Default (255.255.255.0)
Gateway: 192.168.29.1

Downgrade: 这步比较tricky，可以自己选择其中之一，我用的第一种
1. Turn off the router
3. connect PC to the router LAN's port
4. open a CMD windows to do "ping 192.168.29.1 -t", keep this Windows in
front.
5. open "Asus firmware restoration tool" and choose “TM-AC1900_3.0.0.4_376_
1703-g0ffdbba.trx” firmware to be ready to restore.
6. hold the router's reset hole while turning power on
7. watch the CMD windows, once the "ping 192.168.29.1 -t" gets replies ,
release the reset button immediately.
8. follow step 7 , immediately click "upload" from "firmware restoration
tool" , the tool will start flashing the firmware , few mins later, see the
tool says "successful"
Or:
Place router into Recovery/Restore mode
Hold reset button 10 seconds
Power off router (keep holding reset)
Wait 10 seconds, keep holding reset
Power on router holding reset for 10 more seconds
6. Go to 192.168.29.1 in a web browser
If Mini-CFE won’t load use Asus Restore Utility
7. Flash TM-AC1900_3.0.0.4_376_1703-g0ffdbba.trx

Enable SSH
8. Wait for reboot <5 mins – WiFi lights will turn on when boot is
complete
9. Log in to router (admin:admin or admin:password)
10. Go to Administration > System > Enable SSH > Yes > Apply
11. Open Putty and WinSCP and connect them to 192.168.29.1 using a admin:
admin or admin:password
Tip: In WinSCP select SCP as file protocol, in Putty SSH
12. In putty type: cat /dev/mtd0 > original_cfe.bin
13. In WinSCP refresh the window on the right side and note that original
_cfe.bin is present
14. Copy original_cfe.bin to a local drive
15. Upload original_cfe.bin to https://cfeditor.pipeline.sh/ > Select 1.0
.2.0 US as Source CFE > Download the new .bin > rename it to new_cfe.bin
16. Upload new_cfe.bin to router through WinSCP
17. Upload mtd-write to router through WinSCP
18. In Putty type: chmod u+x mtd-write
19. In Putty type: ./mtd-write new_cfe.bin boot
20. In Putty type: reboot
21. Wait for reboot <5 min – WiFi lights will turn on when boot is
complete
22. Perform NVRAM Reset, wait for reboot <5 mins
a. Power off router
b. Wait 10 seconds
c. Press and hold WPS button
d. Power up the router and continue to hold WPS button for 15-20 seconds
23. Enter recovery mode (repeat Step 5)（就是2选1的那步）
24. Use Asus Restore Utility to flash FW_RT_AC68U_30043763626.trx
25. Perform NVRAM Reset, wait for reboot <5 mins
a. Power off router
b. Wait 10 seconds
c. Press and hold WPS button
d. Power up the router and continue to hold WPS button for 15-20 seconds
26. Once flashed, reset PC IP back to default
27. Log in to router using 192.168.1.1 and the router is now an AC68U
with 64MB jffs
28. Feel free to flash AC68U builds from Asus, Merlin, Tomato, DD-WRT,
etc…
29. 我手动从ASUS 下了 FW_RT_AC68U_30043783873，在UI下手动刷。（因为之前有人
说从3626自动升会有问题）
30. 然后自动下载升级到最新的： FW_RT_AC68U_30043807743_FBWIFI

台电脑来上网去CFE在线修改器，只能搬出一台N久未用的老笔记本，没想到旧browser
还不支持那个在线修改器，于是又安装chrome，弄了好久。 建议准备刷的有两台机器
在手边。 当然也可以同一台机器，来回改IP，也可以。

bridge，不管是用2g还是5g连。
按照提示一步一步来，repeater就是连不上主router。
不知道什么原因

美国5G channel管制非常严
导致交通堵塞
解决方法是unlock Wi-Fi channels
YouTube上有个老毛的视频
可以unlock所有5G channel （for AC68U）
并且可以Max transfer power
注意：并不是所有channel Wi-Fi client都可用
比如channel100，iPhone，电脑无问题，但是 FireTV不认
我试了ac68u，pass
在试ac87u，unlock all后GUI不能选channel，系统auto了channel 100，导致有的设备
连不上，我现在试试RU的country code （管制最松） |
