activities, including the front and back yard, has to be child-proof with
safety gates etc. Check if the living area, kitchen, and bathroom are as
clean as you can accept. Talk to the teacher and make sure she is trained
and has appropriate license. See if she knows all the rules and regulations
about family care facilities. Can she perform CPR? Does she know what to do
in case of emergency? Is the facility covered by any kind of insurance
policy?
See if you like her personality and her way to run the family care. Is there
a schedule for the day? What kind of themes she has in the recent weeks?
Dose she allow kids watching TV? If so, how long? Will there be any backup
plan if she is not available due to personal reasons? Would she be glad if
you want to talk to other parents? Also check the age distribution of kids
in the daycare. How long the kids have been in her facility? If allowed, you
should observe the behavior of other kids.
Finally, if you’re happy with the family care you probably will want to
bring your little one for a tour before you get her enrolled. Good luck! |

safety. The license also means she has the adequate knowledge of babies and
toddlers.
Safety is the most important factor.
Speaking from my previous experience, I would not send my kid to any place without a license or any place with only one caregiver. |

If your friends can recommend you one, that will be very reliable. If not,
you can ask the daycare if they can provide previous parents contact info.
Call other parents, ask what they like and dislike the daycare.
As other post mentioned, license, teacher/kids ratio, safety, your overall
feeling about the teacher are also very important.

如果工作，请假不容易的话，我还有个建议是找有两个以上老师的（或一个老师带助手
的）。
我娃就送的family care，但老师也有可能生病或出某些意外，比如我去的那个地方，
那个老师就出了次车祸，就又得把娃接回来自己带。
我是全职妈妈，所以也无所谓，但如果工作的话，遇到这种情况就很被动了。我送的那
家family care本来有两个小孩的妈妈都是工作的，老师出车祸后那两个小孩就不来了
，想想也是，多不稳定。

还有就是实地考察，我觉得当妈妈的直觉一般都挺准得
