五岁，所以要17年才能进K，但是今天孩子同学的妈妈告诉我，有些小学只要通过测试
合格，年龄差点也可以上，让我在网上好好找找，实在不知道怎么个搜索这方面信息，
有妈妈们能提供点信息吗？万分感谢！ |

谢谢，我们在芝加哥北部地区，现在只查到kindergarten Information night，主要是
除了参加这个能有用吗？有什么理由比较好呢？怕他们一听不到年龄不到一口回绝，所
以想着当面说能有希望些

试这一说，
知道的几个成功的都是让孩子先去的montessori ,然后转到公立学校。 |

How old does my child have to be to start kindergarten next year?
Your child must be five years old by September 1, 2016, in order to apply
for kindergarten enrollment for the 2016-2017 school year.
How old does my child have to be to start first grade next year?
Your child must be six years old by September 1, 2016, in order to apply for
first grade enrollment for the 2016-2017 school year.
Are there any exceptions to the age requirements?
Yes – for first grade enrollment only. If your child will become six years
old between September 2, 2016 - December 31, 2016, your child may qualify
for an exception to the age requirement for first grade enrollment.
To qualify for this exception, your child:
(1) must become six years old between September 2, 2016 - December 31, 2016;
(2) must have attended preschool and kindergarten at the same non-public
school, or the same public school outside Illinois;
(3) must have been taught in kindergarten by an appropriately certified
teacher; and
(4) must be deemed ready by the non-public school (or public school outside
of Illinois) to work at the first grade level.
If you are applying for first grade enrollment for your child under this age
exception, you must: (a) submit a First Grade Age Exception Form to the
Office of Access and Enrollment by December 11, 2015, and (b) provide the
Office of Access and Enrollment by July 1, 2016, a letter from the principal
/head administrator of your child’s current non-public school (or public
school outside Chicago) which affirms each of the following: that (1) your
child has attended the same school for preschool and kindergarten, (2) your
child’s kindergarten teacher is appropriately certified, and (3) your
child has been assessed as ready to work at the first grade level. If this
signed letter is not provided by this deadline, any seat awarded through the
Options for Knowledge application process will be forfeited.
To apply for a first-grade exception, you must submit a PAPER Standard
Elementary application; you cannot apply using the online process. |
