发帖数: 771 | 5 same thing happened to me on the Brother 2140, but not sure if it is from
paper jam.
It worked to some degree after I cleaned the drum using ethyl alcohol, but
it still has lines/fuzzy prints. I can even see the residual droplet shape (
from the alcohol washing/cleaning).
After I bought a Brother 2240 as a backup at Staples for $40 + tax last week
, my old brother 2140 suddenly becomes better. Almost all the lines/
background spots were gone, strange. Now, it is usable, but it still has a
problem: the printing quality is not as sharp, a bit faint and fuzzy.
I don't think drum and toner are the same thing on this printer. I suspect a
drum problem on yours, as well as on mine.
An aftermarket drum can be bought for $12.xx shipped at eBay, while the OEM
one will cost more than $100. I am still debating if I want to buy an
aftermarket drum and get the old printer fixed.
I would be interested in your experience if you ever fix your printer. | a******e
发帖数: 36306 | 6 toner和drum不是一个东西，brother的toner catridge是墨粉盒的意思，和硒鼓（里面
的感应部分）是分离的，所以换墨粉不用换硒鼓，cost就降低了，换好几次碳粉才需要
换硒鼓里的感光部件。brother hl系列的几个打印机用的都是一样的toner和drum，所
以bf的时候搞几个2240就行了，drum单卖要100多。相对来说hp的toner很贵就是因为这
两部分连一起的。
