will cut up to 2,600 jobs and lowering profit guidance because of lower than

The company said it plans to reduce its work force by 12 percent to 14
percent, or between 2,200 and 2,600 positions and will get hit with a
restructuring charge between $600 million and $700 million. Amgen also

分子), 大分子的DISCOVERY主要在THOUSAND OAK.
我估计主要会裁小分子的R&D. 大分子是AMGEN的强项, 估计不会动. 我个人觉得三番和
SEATTLE最危险. AMGEN一直对CANCER比较重视, 所以CAMBRIDGE不会大动. 三番主要做
metabolic deisease的小分子DISCOVERY,比较悬. 由于PIPELINE 不好, SEATTLE的
development几乎没什么活. 那儿的人都闲的要死. 有一个人在2006参加了4
个MEETING加两个TRAINING.
前两年AMGEN疯狂扩张的时候, 大多数人就觉得迟早会出事, 整个一个几年前PFIZER的
翻版, 只是没想到会来得这么快. 放着好好的大分子不做, 偏要去试小分子.现在他们
唯一的希望就是明年AMG162的NDA了 |

不过management的预期是要裁员就一次裁到位。所以除非有更多unexpected不利因素出
现，短期内应该不会继续裁。

although both were co-developments with partners and the Street didn't think
these would seriously affect their earning stream.
As for Novatis news, I cann't say it is officially freezing, but I was told
they are not hiring in this season.
