Responsibilities:
• Work within the Analytical Protein Chemistry area to provide
analytical support for novel peptide and protein therapeutics in pre-
clinical and clinical development.
• Primary responsibilities include the identification and
characterization of post-translational modifications in protein therapeutic
candidates, using state of the art separations technology and mass
spectrometry instrumentation, with an emphasis on peptide mapping and glycan
identification.
• Provide pharmacokinetic and analytical assay support of peptide
candidates by LCMS
• Other responsibilities include: development of novel analytical
methods for protein and peptide characterization and routine analysis,
interact with cross-functional areas, summarize and interpret complex
analytical data, author internal reports, draft research manuscripts
suitable for external publication, present results at team/company-wide
meetings.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• BS/MS degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry,
Pharmaceutical Science or related field
• At least 4-8 years (BS) or 3-6 years (MS) of industry experience
in analytical chemistry of protein therapeutic drug research and development
.
• Very good understanding and hands-on experience of LC-MS
especially peptide mapping using one of the mass spectrometers such as ion
trap, Q-TOF, or triple quadrupole for protein characterization, Sequest or
Mascot database search for peptide sequencing and post-translational
modification (PTM) identification, experience of N- and O-glycosylation
characterization is highly desired.
• Good understanding and experience with various analytical methods
for protein characterization such as SEC, IEC, RP-HPLC, electrophoresis and
IEF etc.
• Knowledge and experience with protein chemistry.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
and an ability to work across scientific disciplines.
• Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work
independently. Attention to detail in experiments and documentation.
• Motivated and driven for results, proactive, looks beyond
individual responsibilities without being prompted to better the team and
department, and a great team player.
