Mini-pilot – Senior/Principal Scientist in DSP

Novo Nordisk is a focused healthcare company and a world leader in diabetes
care. Novo Nordisk China R&D (NNRCC) is an integrated part of Novo Nordisk R
&D organization. Novo Nordisk wants to conduct pharmaceutical research
activities in China and expand its network to the scientific community. For
this purpose a new position is open for a dedicated and motivated Senior
Scientist/Principal Scientist in department of Mini-pilot.
The department is responsible for the delivery of medium to large scale
research grade proteins and peptides as well as the development of robust
USP and DSP processes to CMC. Currently, the department consist of 6
scientists, 11 research associates/assistants and a department director. We
are a highly motivated and productive team with high standards for our
deliveries into the projects. We work with state-of-the-art facilities and
equipments and value a high team spirit, innovation and dynamic
collaboration. Established in the beginning of 2011, the department is
expected to grow significantly over the next years.
We are looking for a Senior Scientist/Principal Scientist with a focus in
DSP. The successful candidate will work within a team on the development of
therapeutics for preclinical studies.
Challenges
The main goal for the position is to provide expertise in homogenization,
centrifugation, filtration and purification in a dynamic and diverse team.
Your tasks will include, but not be limited to
• Design, develop and optimize experiments for protein and peptide
recovery and purification from E. coli
• Analyze data from experiments, write summaries, and prepare
presentations
• Manage projects in a diverse team environment
• Supervise Junior staffs
Furthermore, you will be expected to lead the implementation of new
technologies within protein and peptide recovery and purification as needed.
Qualifications
• PhD in chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, mechanical
engineering and related field
• 5+ years of relevant industrial experience
• In depth understanding of the biochemical, biophysical and
mechanical properties of cells, inclusion bodies, proteins and peptides
during recovery and purification
• Hands-on working knowledge of homogenizer, UF-DF, continuous
centrifugation, depth filtration, and chromatography from small to large
scale
• Process development and optimization experience in industry is a
must
• cGMP experience is a plus
• Strong organization and communication skill, and a desire to work
cooperatively in a team environment
• You are proactive and able to take responsibility beyond own
tasks.
• You are communicating and collaborating in a positive and
motivating way, a good team-player, highly flexible and have a “can-do”
attitude.
