still too strong. I was on 2 bare flash with no modifier. What would you do
? I can lower the aperture, but I don't want to. Then I increased shutter to
1/250s, and used high speed sync, and it worked. I don't know what is the
exactly the power out put at high speed sync, but it looks like 2 or 3 stops

and there was a manual mode to adjust power of the flash.

There are many ways to further reduce power, just to name a few:
1) move flash away from your subject
2) put doom diffuser on (it eats about 1-stop of light), put flash in widest
zoom
3) put ND gel on your flash
4) use ND filter on your lens, may need to reduce shutter speed if you want
to maitain ambient exposure while mixing ambinet & flash
5) high-speed sync, flash in HSS mode acts like a continuous light: when
enter HSS mode, flash power drops by ~2.3-stops, it will continuous to drop
as shutter speed increases
