是只看此前有没有做出出色的工作？在research方面这三个学校的强项分别是什么呢？
这么问可能有些不合适，但是实在不想轻易失掉选择的机会，想多了解一些信息。如果
学长觉得不合适发在版上的话，能不能麻烦发到我站内呢？ 非常感谢

发帖数: 569 | 7 主要看老板，学校和专业的排名没有老板重要
所以，先考虑一下自己想做什么方向，
看看哪个学校这方面的老板够牛。
UMich的AMO牛，
但两个牛老板近两年离开了，
一个去了stanford一个去了UMD。
UMD凝聚态比UMich牛（cosmology似乎也更牛）。
此外他们现在有个joint quantum institute，
联合了一帮NIST的老板。
JHU不是很了解，应用物理好像比较有名。

These three schools have a common feature: their particle physics groups are
much better than their string groups, respectively. UMC has g. kane and j.
wells (collider physics and SUSY), UMD has r. mohapatra (neutrino), and JHU
has sundrum (extra dimension) and bagger (SUSY). Personally I like UMC and
JHU, after all SUSY (or extra dimnension) has a global influence on the
physics development in the next years. Of course, UMD is a |
