，essay写得怎么样，SAT分数等等等等。Ariel估计打球花得时间太多了，综合素质不
行。
说起来，上次在G，我认识的某组还面试了个奥运会划船铜牌的，后来也没给offer...基
本上要人招你，你各方面得过得去才行。

是成绩分数之类的了，而是what can you contribute to the stanford community，
能使得stanford增加diversity或者某方面更杰出等等。普通的社会公益活动都没什么
用的，要有很强的突出点才行。从这角度看ariel有明显的卖点，何况stanford非常重
视collegiate体育。所以没申请到比较遗憾，也许申请材料有硬伤（比如只会打球，没
别的了），也有时候只是运气问题，毕竟录取率太低，admission committee under-
staffed，过程很随机的。。

i played at Stanford TT club some times when they were there: Whitney
ping, plus 2 fong sisters.
the elder Fong was very very smart, got her BS from Harvard when she was
19 yo, admitted to stanford graduate school after she got her MS from
harvard at 20yo.
all 3 ladies were over 2100. the top guy was around 1950.

there.
However, flags are automatically placed when Ariel was homeschooled for a
couple of years and her final year was spent in a Church School. Thus,
doubts in her potential Lack of social skills and academic capability,
coupled with her over exposed stereotype in bay area media, might have
played another important role in the denial of Ariel's college dream.
No matter no matter. Ariel has already been accepted by prestigious USC
during early admission 2 months ago and at the same time many IVY League
schools are considering her too.
After all, college education doesn't depict happiness in one's life, by any
means. No big deal, I say.
See? Whatever decisions Michael Hsing had made for her, backfired or not,
were all histories. And personally I hope she forever remains an innocent
little girl never succumb to an ideology world or, fame, if hers counts as
one.

李小龙传奇上有句话很经典，他老婆的妈对他说过： you are not american. you are
an american citizen. 这句话其实到现在也没过时啊。
TT，大家自己玩的开心就行，锻炼身体，协调性、加一定的运动量，又不易受伤，挺好

the younger brother is more talented in TT even though he looks more

i played with Justin at North America team cup of Reno, 06, got
smashed 0:3... he was in the USA Cadet team. One game i had 2-3
game points, could not convert into a win.

from east coast for warm-up, he hesitated to play with me until the coach
Fernando told him i was a good player, afterwards i beat him 3:2,
coach told me he was the top guy player around 1950.
at another time, Kyna chatted with me about my life at Beijing,
i was wondering why she was so interested in that, later i noticed
she went to Beida for research.

发帖数: 2526 | 78 如果是math系的，这个人是不太存在的，math就一个台湾人上课。原因在这里：
stanford math系有一定难度，如果你没有phd,你handle不了那些学生，
stanford数学系的学生，很多孩子是拿过竞赛大奖，他们的实际数学水平是别学校
senior的水准，尽管坐在低年级的教室里。
到了graduate level,很多是拿过奥赛奖牌的。
据我掌握到的lily dad的academic ability, 到不了教书这个level
另外，数学系，从没有一个姓张的教员-----如果lily确实姓张。
