(以下简称SON)最初应该是托马斯·霍布斯在《列维坦》(Leviathan)
里提出的一个概念, 指的是 one in which there were no
enforceable criteria of right and wrong. Each person took for himself all that
he could; human life was “solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short.” The
state of nature was therefore a state of war。
这是现实主义的理论基础之一,其实霍布斯的SON就是现实主义Anarchy。
后来的约翰·洛克,批判的继承了这一观点,在《政府论》(Two Treatises o
f Government),他提出了不同于霍布斯的SON的观点,Locke differed from Hobbes
insofar as he described the state of nature as one
