Senior faculty member in the Department of Medicine/Gastroenterology is
seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow who is interested in
investigating the role of epigenetic pathways in regulating pain pathways.
Work will involve animal models and cultured cells, both neurons and
epithelial cells. Research efforts include performing small animal surgery,
developing molecular probes, and conducting imaging studies with novel
optical imaging instruments. Experience with cell culture and basic
molecular methods are required. Working familiarity with site-specific
screening of DNA methylation and ChIP analysis is highly desirable. Goal of
research is to study the role of epigenetic pathways in regulating pain
perception in a variety of conditions. Effective communication skills are
mandatory and evidence of previous research productivity highly desirable.
Wet lab space is available on 9th floor of MSRB3.

Requirements:
MD or Ph.D with experience in molecular biology, cell biology and/or
biochemistry.
Experience with confocal microscopy, immunohistochemistry and PCR is
mandatory. Experience with methods used to screen DNA methylation sites and
chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) analysis are highly desirable. |
