The Idaho Veterans Research & Education Foundation (IVREF), a non-profit
entity affiliated with the Boise VA
Medical Center, has immediate openings for two Basic Science Researchers in
Infectious Disease
Pathogenesis at the Post-doctoral level. The candidates must be a US Citizen
(or green card holder) and
within 5 years of obtaining a PhD or MD degree. The candidates must have 1-2
years of recent successful
post-doctoral research experience in a related field and demonstrate a
commitment to an independent
research career.
S/he will participate in a multi-disciplinary Collaborative Biomedical
Research Center of Excellence in
Emerging/Reemerging Infectious Diseases at the VA Medical Center in Boise,
Idaho whose mission is to
discover, develop and advance novel new approaches to prevention, diagnosis
and treatment of life-
threatening infections. Junior investigators will be provided with
exceptional mentoring and up to 5 years of
salary and research project support to ensure their transition to
independent research funding.
The Investigators will have dedicated laboratory and office space in our
newly constructed, 18,000 sq ft state-
of-the-art basic science research laboratory which also houses several high-
tech core facilities. The Boise
VAMC also maintains an AAALAC-accredited research facility.
Salary: The incumbent will be an employee of the Idaho Veterans Research &
Education Foundation (IVREF).
Salary range is $42 - $47,000/year depending on experience and will follow
NIH guidelines. Benefits will be
negotiated.
