integrate No. 1 option tool into trading platform.
Built one national realstate finance system.
Physics/EE PhD from private US univ.
Top resume on the market, according to recruitors... |

You can figure that out more reliably from the number of the onsite
interviews and the positions you are interviewed for.
btw: I don't quite get what "No. 1" means. I never saw a official ranking of
the trading platforms since most of them are proprietary and if you have
worked in those public ones (done by software companies, such as ION), you'd
better re-evaluate your recruiter's words.

not relevant.
onsite 5/week. but mostly I don't go, don't get job by interview.
phd maybe helpful for quant job, that is what i mean or the point :)
mediocre, true, only get about 100/hr, that is why I try to find other field
, such as quant. but till now, nobody tells me how much quant guys make. I
am seriously planning on making the move. |

you need to tell us how many hours you get to bill in a year.
if you bill 8 hours a day for 250 days a year, you hit 200k which is not bad
even for a junior quant.

probably the median payscale as the mean is highly skewed by outliers.
Let's put this way for contract programmers the market rate is between 50 to
150 an hour, that translates to a yearly total comp of $100k to $300k with
very few reaching $300k. Personally I know programmers at front desk
position with total comp ranging from $200k to $1m . So the point here is
the upper limit for top programmer in trading shop is more than you have
seen. The correct question to ask is how much value you can directly bring
to the firm. Once you know the answer to that you don't have to worry about
the payscale. If your position is not directly related to profit generating
area then you have no hope.

make coule of millions/year. So even we get the average salary statistically
, let's say $200k/year, it still doens't make too much sense.
Before ask questions, try to think carefully first. Ask yourself, what's the
average salary for NYC people? That's $48,631/year. Do you feel happy
enough since your salary is above that? |
