keep your independent IP. Then you can take whatever you develop at your
firm when you leave. Generally your firm will also keep your files secret
and nobody else can look/trade on it.(But small firms usually don't really
honor it) If you contract mention IP belong to the firm, then you can't
take anything with you and they can always trade on it.Everything should be
clearly specified in the contract.

Does that mean I can ignore whatever they said and take whatever I

定雇佣合同。雇佣合同是保护双方利益而不仅仅是保护老板的利益。不要说你是在美国
，在中国，没有雇佣合同的事情在我在大陆工作过的公司都从来没有见过。还有个大脑
的老板都不愿意这么干的。你还以为没有雇佣合同是对你多么有利的事情，唉，真是少
见。
不过你说的IP的事情倒是和你有没有合同是无关的。在你在美国的知识产权局去登记注
册你的IP（产生这些IP的法律权利）的时候，例如copyright，patent，法律文件会注
明谁是IP的owner。例如patent，inventor是一（些）人，patent owner往往是
inventor所在的公司。你也可以和你所在的公司协商，让你成为owner或者共同成为
owner，但是这些必须是在形成法律文件前协商好。在IP所属上的鉴别一看这些法律文
件一清二楚，根本不需要另立合同。打起官司来，上到法庭就看这些法律文件。

发帖数: 1899 | 8 非常简单，看你的IP的法律文件上的IP owner是谁。一般雇员的发明，其所在公司是IP
owner。
如果你有本事和公司在法律文件形成前协商好，你是owner或者部分owner，在IP到期前
，从法律角度讲，任何人利用IP去赚钱，需要支付你royalty fee，即使你离开公司，
除非你和你（前）公司有另立协议。
如果你有本事让自己成为你的IP的完全owner，不管你是否离开公司，在你的IP到期前
，你所服务的公司使用你的IP就要支付你royalty fee。虽然这种情况我没有见过，但
是理论上是这样。如果你的公司而不是你在法律文件上作为IP owner出现，公司随便
run，不管你是否受雇。

发帖数: 66 | 13 其实也不是， 很多时候strategy已经在那儿 只是需要不停修改， 不同的calibration
以适应新的market condition, 但最核心的idea其实倒没有变化太多， 不能说哪个更
重要。。。

发帖数: 1568 | 14 那你的东西自己电脑都有备份吧，公司的东西估计别人也不会给你了。consultant也需
要合同，如果是正规公司的话。否则和FLUSHING华人皮包公司没什么区别了。去这些地
方对自己CAREER没任何帮助，甚至有负面影响。还是赶快投简历吧。

1。如果拥有ip，那么去那里都可以trade。
2。对于刚刚开始做pm或者还只是researcher的，在一个公司工作但是还是想保留ip是
不太可能的。但是就算ip是公司的，你还是可以去另外一个地方重新写一遍系统，只要
过了non-compete阶段。
这样讲对吗？
