San Diego Peking University Alumni Association Annual Meeting
Dear PKU Alumni and Friends,
You are cordially invited to the San Diego Peking University Alumni
Association annual meeting on May 31, 2014 at the Morrison Foerster
conference room. We invited two eminent PKU alumni in San Diego to share
their wisdom on career, life, and anything else in-between with us. We will
also provide dinner and networking opportunities for everybody. Please come
and join us to celebrate, to reunion with old friends, to meet new friends,
to share a story, to learn from each other, and to laugh together.

张宏跃, 康比乐 (Combi-Blocks) 总裁
Hongyue Zhang obtained his BS in Chemistry from Peking University and MS and
PhD in Organic Chemistry from Shanghai Institute of Material Medica,
Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a Co-founder and President of Combi-
Blocks, Inc. and San Diego Sunshine Choir.

1982年一月毕业于北大化学系，学士；
1984年十二月毕业于中国科学院上海药物研究所，硕士；
1988年二月毕业中国科学院上海药物研究所，博士；
1989 - 1990 哈佛大学化学系博士后
1991-1994 加大圣塔巴巴拉博士后；
1995-1997 圣地亚哥 Galderma Research 研究员、资深研究员、首席研究员
1997 - 康比乐 (Combi-Blocks) 总裁
David Miao, Ph.D., CTO, Sorrento Therapeutics, Inc., CSO, Concortis
Biosystems, the ADC company of Sorrento
David (Zhenwei) Miao, Ph.D., is currently Chief Technology Officer at the
Nasdaq-listing company Sorrento Therapeutics, Inc. His responsibilities
encompass internal R&D, strategic planning, project management, budgeting
and resource allocation. He was cofounder of Concortis Biosystems Corp. and
served as President and Chief Scientific Officer until its acquisition by
STI in 2013. Previously, Dr. Miao held the position of the Senior R&D Team
and Director/Head of Chemistry at Ambrx Inc., where he was instrumental in
directing the company’s entrance into ADC research. Prior to Ambrx, Dr.
Miao was appointed Principal Scientist at Enanta Pharmaceuticals, where he
led several drug discovery programs resulting in a HCV drug that is
currently undergoing phase III clinical trials in collaboration with Abbvie.
Dr. Miao holds a B.S. from Nankai University and a Ph.D. in chemistry from
Peking University. He received his postdoctoral training at Vanderbilt
University Medical Center.
Dr. Miao has more than 15 years of biotech experience in both small molecule
drug and biotherapeutics areas. He is author of more than 30 peer-reviewed
papers and inventor of more than 50 patents.
