12万 in NY, NY = about the same in the bay area
12万 in DC = about the same in the bay area
12万 in Boston, MA = 15万 in the bay area
12万 in Buffalo, NY = 25万 in the bay area |

我想问问，如果是去三番，我这里挣12万，去那里应该什么样的工资水平？

The cost of living in the bay area is very high because of the cost of
housing... If your potential employer is serious about you, ask them to
match your current salary + cost of living adjustment; however if you depend
on them for H1 / green card, they normally pay you less.

了就给了），请问找工作是不是大部分大公司都要负责你的房子？

people like california for its no-season weather so much that they don't
even care about higher living cost and a terrible state government...

so at least 160K would be reasonable.:)

发帖数: 13 | 13 如果这是个大公司，你可以在glassdoor.com或者其它网站找该公司相关职位在湾区和
你附近地区的Base Salary差异。然后乘以你现在的Base Salary，这将是大公司最重要
的benchmark。如果这个职位不是急需的或者有好几个candidates,那么这个大公司的第
一个offer将会在这个benchmark附近。反之，如果职位急需同时又没有强的对手（如果
你认识该公司的实权人物也会加分），那么这个大公司的第一个offer就会在benchmark
+5%到25%。不管是何种情况，你最后的offer大约不会超过第一个offer的105%（再多就
得越级申报了）。祝好运！
